| Diary of A Baseball Geek: Re: Texas waives Broussard; Blalock will take over at first |     Posted: 5/29/08, 9:17am
    | | Excerpt:
>Blalock gets multi-position eligibility... but Broussard, who >was picked by me as a sleeper in the beginning of the season, >was apparently so "sleepy" that he never woke up. >Lots of potential there gone bad. And, I guess I say the same about Blalock now. How can I stay high on a guy who now has carpal tunnel and needs cortisone shots? I'm hoping to salvage a good half season from him, so I still have him shelved away in most of my leagues... but... |

| Diary of A Baseball Geek: According to his wife, Arod passed out during birth of his daughter |     Posted: 5/06/08, 4:43pm
    | | Excerpt:
From the article:
"The one nurse had a cold cloth on his head. The other nurse had the blood pressure on his arm. And my mother was like rubbing his back. And he is passed out on a couch. And I am there, in the middle of labor," Cynthia Rodriguez, wife of the New York Yankees star, said on an episode of the YES Network's "YESterdays" that is scheduled to be broadcast Wednesday night.
"And really, I am not being paid much attention... |

| Moonlight Graham's Blog: The wives of Alex Gordon and Luke Hochevar draw a blank when asked by a Dallas radio station who Yoko Ono is. Station's response on-air is 'stupid b******' |     Posted: 4/29/08, 10:42pm
    | | Excerpt:
Mrs. Gordon and Hochevar shouldn't take it so hard. The second Mrs. Paul McCartney probably has no idea who Yoko is either. When it comes to stupid b**** wives in baseball, Anna Benson still tops them all, in my opinion. |

I had the opportunity to attend a taping of Costas Now last night in NY. It was a special on sports in the media featuring five segments, one was on sportstalk radio and another on the internet and blogging. Representatives for the two mediums, Chris Russo of WFAN in NY and Rick Leitch of deadspin.com were exposed as having no subsatnce by the Giants' Michael Strahan and Friday Night Lights author, Buzz Bissinger, respectively. That both admitted in... |

| Moonlight Graham's Blog: Is Smoltz the best pitcher in Atlanta Brave history? |     Posted: 4/22/08, 9:18pm     | | Excerpt:
John Smoltz added another milestone to his illustrious career has an Atlanta Brave pitcher. Whether getting the call in the 9th inning or being penciled every 5th day, Smoltz has been a flat-out gamer and one of my favorite Braves of all-time. After recording his 3,000 K of his career it got me wondering where should Smoltz rank among all-time Brave pitchers. From Maddux, to Niekro, to Glavine, to Spahn, one has to wonder where would Smoltz fall under. To me... |

Joe, I must say that this is one of the most ridiculous statements I've ever heard. Without even going to baseball reference to support my position with even more stats that would make your stance look silly, I'll just throw these at you. Spahn won 363 games and didn't appear in a major league game until he was 25. He won 20 THIRTEEN times! Yes, Smoltz has been a great postseason pitcher but don't forget, he's had many... |

| JoeKool2322's Blog: Another week another 1st place standing |     Posted: 4/21/08, 4:49pm     | | Excerpt:
I continue to dominate BTG and we are entering week 3. My lead has dwindled to 4.5 points but more importantly Rob continues to stay on pace to be the worst team in the league has he is only two points above the auto team. WoW!! I made a few moves this week including trading one of my Braves, Tim Hudson for CC. A big gamble considering CC this year but it could pay off. Hey you can't win in fantasy...

| Diary of A Baseball Geek: Re: Another 1st round pick making a trip to the DL (hello to Mrs. Crosby!) |     Posted: 4/21/08, 11:44am     | | Excerpt:
>Whats not to love about Crosby? He performs and you get top >shelf production out of a waiver wire pickup. He doesn't and >you drop him. What I find funny about him though is that you >advise avoiding Crosby and used a draft pick on Baldelli in >your money league. Hi Aavenoso: I did not know that we had Crosby's mother as a user on baseballgeeks, so please accept my apologies for offending you. He is a handsome, young man, and I am... |

| JoeKool2322's Blog: Did we curse Chipper Jones? |     Posted: 4/20/08, 5:35pm     | | Excerpt:
The good news of this series was that Andruw Jones finally hit a HR. Yea that will really make up for his below the Mendoza line batting average. Another positive note is that Rob Reed's Dodgers continue to be crappy. Not only am I beating you in BTG but my Braves just swept your lowly Dodgers. The most important news of this series was that prior to Chipper Jones getting hurt we said that Chipper could be a HOF barring injury. However,...
